Friday February 7, 2025 1:00pm - 1:45pm CST
Learn how to transform your math classroom into a space where students think deeply, collaborate meaningfully, and find joy in problem-solving. In this session, we’ll focus on the big rocks of Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms framework, such as random grouping, vertical non-permanent surfaces (VNPS), and rich tasks that promote critical thinking and student discourse. Together, we’ll explore how to manage jumping into these strategies with manageable, small steps that can be implemented right away.
We’ll also explore strategies and tools that support collaboration and deeper learning, equipping you with actionable ideas to create a student-centered environment. By the end of this session, you’ll be ready to foster a culture of thinking that enhances understanding, builds confidence, and improves math scores.
