About me
I began my teaching career in 2011, working in a middle school with children with Emotional Disturbances. Prior to entering the educational field, I worked as an in-home ABA therapist for children in Autism. I earned her Bachelors of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis with a specialization in Autism from the University of North Texas, and a Masters of Science in Educational Psychology from Capella. Throughout my career I have worked primarily with grades K-8, teaching a variety of subject areas, including adult learners in the private sector. I have been fortunate to work with a wide variety of students, including those with Autism, Down Syndrome and Intellectual disabilities, as a classroom teacher. In my role as a teacher, it afforded me to opportunity to mentor new teachers and now be an Instructional Coach. My goal is to enhance the quality of teachers’ lessons and practices in ways that lead to improved student achievement, by partnering with teachers to help them improve teaching and learning.
My passion and love for reaching all students has remained constant throughout my career . Every student deserves a teacher that is dedicated to their craft and wants to see all their students reaching their highest potential. We are called to build relationships with students, get to know them, help them find their passion and way in life, through teaching and learning. I am a huge believer in thinking innovatively, doing things differently, even failing at trying new things-only to succeed when trying again, and being the best I can be for every teacher I support, while they equip their students to be problem solvers and to help fill up their “toolbox” with strategies to be successful both now and in the future.
